This platform is part of the Voice Up! Information for Peace (VIP) Project and functions as a professional fact-checking training space, not a news channel. Reports published here are trainee assignments designed to practice verification and misinformation analysis. Each report is graded to reflect learning progress and should be viewed as part of a training program rather than official editorial content.

The Voice Up! Information for Peace (VIP) initiative, led by Tikvah Ethiopia, is a nationwide effort to combat the growing challenge of misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech in Ethiopia’s digital spaces. At its core, the project empowers university students and journalists to become active defenders of truth, equipping them with practical skills in fact-checking, digital safety, and responsible online engagement.
Unlike traditional awareness campaigns, VIP uses a localized, self-paced, and mentorship-driven learning model. Participants learn through custom e-learning modules, interactive mentorship, and hands-on community monitoring. They don’t just study the issues—they actively monitor, verify, and counter harmful narratives in real time through dedicated Telegram channels, producing fact-checking reports, investigative stories, and community campaigns.
Over the course of the project, participants will:
Establish monitoring channels to track and respond to more than 22 cases of online misinformation and hate speech.
Publish fact-checking reports and in-depth investigative stories addressing harmful digital content.
Launch a national multimedia campaign to raise public awareness and promote positive online engagement.
Through VIP, Tikvah Ethiopia is building a lasting network of digital peacebuilders, ensuring that the fight against disinformation continues long after the project ends.
